Agri-tech Innovation

At OCP AFRICA, we are continuously exploring digital agriculture and other innovations that can increase crop yields and assist farmers with other necessary inputs, services and marketing. For example, in Côte d’Ivoire, we are working with partners to conduct a pilot using satellites and new soil-testing methodology. In Kenya we are working with Esoko, which provides technology services for African farmers, to develop a digital-commerce solution that leverages mobile technology and last-mile agent networks to connect smallholder farmers with agri-input suppliers, financial service providers and commodity buyers. While these projects are still in their beginning phases, we are tremendously excited about what digital agriculture could mean for Africa.
