The OCP AFRICA office in Burkina Faso was created in February 2018. Our overall goal is to provide farmers with soil and crop friendly fertilizers, as well as agricultural services through training and awareness of good agricultural practices and fertilizer recommendation.

Burkina Faso is an agricultural country with 86% of the active population and contributes about 34% of GDP. The arable land is estimated at 9 000 000 ha with an irrigable land potential of 233 500 ha. Cotton is the main commercial and export culture.

Local initiatives

OCP AFRICA provides a range of services to support local farmers.

OCP School Lab

Through this innovative agricultural development tools, the mobile OCP school Lab reach farmers in the remote areas of the country to: i) raise awareness of the importance of the diagnosis of soil fertility management using software from IPNI and ii) offer training on good agricultural practices and fertilizer recommendations for small-holder farmers. To date, after two campaigns, more than 12.500 farmers were impacted. 

Agribooster

OCP Africa is currently formalizing some Agribooster programs.
