ABOUT NIGERIA
OCP Africa is rapidly growing its presence in Nigeria, partnering with farmers, distributors and local stakeholders to foster a thriving agriculture-business ecosystem. Our primary focus in Nigeria includes educating farmers and members of the supply chain about fertilizer needs and best practices, and increasing farmers’ access to financing and markets.

Local Initiatives
Fertilizer Education
OCP AFRICA helps improve access for Nigerian farmers to products, training and financing through its signature Agribooster program – including facilitating the sale of farmers’ harvests to local partners. Most recently, OCP AFRICA launched its second Agribooster program in Nigeria, providing 5,000 maize smallholder farmers with access to higher quality inputs, credit to buy them, and a secured market to sell their production at a fair price.
Fertilizer Trials
As part of OCP AFRICA’s plan to develop customized fertilizer products over the next three years, we will hold agronomic trials in Nigeria to gather information about specific soil types and crops, such as maize, cocoa and cassava.
Soil Testing Innovations
OCP AFRICA’s School Lab raises awareness of the importance of soil testing by providing demonstrations with SoilCares technology. Through the program, farmers receive necessary information about fertilizer use and training on agronomic best practices. In November 2017, OCP AFRICA launched the program in Nigeria – reaching over 70,000 local farmers.
